Would you join Nepal Police as an inspector? Why?

Among all the government job, police work is arguably one of the most rough ones. At least a civil servant in a non-magisterial position can have a sound sleep at night.

It is a uniformed service, and is covetted with lots of power. So it is only natural for police folks to have more stress.

Unless, you’re deeply passionate about working at grassroot level, serving the people despite the odds considering many people aren’t so grateful towards Nepal Police, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Like civil service, not all the personnels are equipped with the same degree of power. The SP of a district has more power over his jurisdiction, compared to an SP who works in some administration department of a large office. Just like a Joint secretary being a CDO of Kathmandu VS joint secretary of some energy ministry.
