Tolonews said in its news bulletin that Ariana Afghan Airlines has started flights from Kabul to Herat, Mazar-i-Sharif, and Kandahar.
The Ariana Afghan Airlines is the first local airline to resume domestic flights since the US soldiers withdrew in late August, and the Kabul airport’s infrastructure were reportedly destroyed as a result of their departure.
Another local private airline, Kam Air, is said to have relocated its jets from Kabul to Mashhad, Iran, in order to avoid a chaotic situation in Kabul following the Taliban’s capture of the Afghan capital on Aug. 15.
According to the media outlet, a Qatari technical team is ready to assist with the resumption of flights at the Kabul airport.
A Qatari plane carrying high-ranking officials and a United Arab Emirates plane providing humanitarian aid both arrived at Kabul International Airport recently.
