Bangladesh’s women’s football squad has landed in Nepal to compete in friendlies.
The friendly matches set for September 9 and 12 at Tripureshwor’s Dasharath Stadium are part of the preparations for the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers, which will be held in Uzbekistan beginning in mid-September this year.
At the Tribhuvan International Airport, Shikshit Parajuli, Vice President of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the regulatory body of football in Nepal, and office bearers of the ANFA women committee, welcomed the Bangladeshi squad.
Nepal is classified as a member of Group ‘F,’ alongside the Philippines and Hong Kong.
Nepal will face the Philippines in its inaugural match on September 18. Similarly, it will face Hong Kong in its second encounter on September 21. The group winner will qualify for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2022, which will be hosted in India.
